Flavor Flav, real name William Jonathan Drayton, is an American television personality and musician, best known as a member of the hip-hop band Public Enemy, consisting of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and DJ Lord. In 2004 an influential music magazine Rolling Stone ranked the group 44th, among the world’s greatest artists.

William’s talent for music was well known for everyone who knew the kid, but hardly anyone could have expected that this talent will eventually boost Flavor Flav net worth to millions of dollars. He started playing piano at the age of five and joined the church choir a couple of years later. Although he never had a teacher or took any lessons, eventually William learned to play on 15 instruments. William’s academic achievements were by far inferior. He dropped out of high school before even finishing 11th grade. Unable to find a decent job he soon enrolled into culinary school and subsequently worked as a cook in a several restaurants in town.

Bum Rush the Show was not financially successful and received little attention from the hip-hop community. Public Enemy’s second work entitled It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back was received with much more enthusiasm and eventually sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone.
As Flavor Flav net worth grew, legal troubles and problems with drug abuse started haunting the rapper. He has already been jailed before, for burglary and robbery. In 1991 flavor had to spend 30 in prison for attacking and beating his former girfriend. Two years later he was charged with trying to kill his neighbor and had to serve 3 months in jail. In 1997 William tried to fight his drug and alcohol addictions by entering a rehab, but it only led to a temporary improvement of his health. By 2000, Flavor was absolutely broke and lived at the small apartment in Bronx, which belonged to his girlfriend. After the two broke up Flavor Flav moved in with his mother. From various relationships Flav currently has 7 children and none of them lives with him.
